Trousdale County, Tennessee

Trousdale County is a county located in the state of Tennessee in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Hartsville.

Geography

The County is located in northern Tennessee, is about 40 km away from Kentucky and has an area of 302 square kilometers, of which 6 square kilometers is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Macon County, Smith County, Wilson County and Sumner County.

History

Trousdale County was formed on June 21, 1870 from parts of Macon, Smith, Sumner and Wilson County. It was named after William Trousdale, a brigadier general in the Mexican-American War (1846-1848) and later governor of Tennessee.
