Winterwerb

Winterwerb is a municipality in the Rhein- Lahn-Kreis in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Nastaetten.

History

Winterwerb was first mentioned in 1353 under the name " Wynterburn ". The counts of Katzenelenbogen and their heirs were the rulers in the area Winterwerbs. The place came to " Vierherrischen " court in the lower county Katzenelenbogen and Baronial Manor Hilchen v. Lorch and his successor, Baron von Waldenburg. From 1806 the town was part of the Duchy of Nassau (Official Braubach ), which was annexed in 1866 by Prussia. Since 1946 it has been part of Rhineland- Palatinate.
