Kestert

Kestert is a municipality in the Loreley valley in the Rhein- Lahn-Kreis in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality and Lorelei is in the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. Kestert is a nationally recognized tourist.

Parish council

The local council in Kestert consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 of personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Church of St. George

The Catholic Church of St. George was built in 1779 in Baroque style. 1958 saw the construction of an aisle, which was demolished in 2011. Inside are several Baroque statues of saints.

The hostile brothers with love stone castle and castle Sterrenberg in Kamp- Bornhofen and the Lorelei rock near St. Goar, Mark Burg and Burg Lahneck.
