Oberbachheim

Oberbachheim is a municipality in the Rhein- Lahn-Kreis in Rhineland- Palatinate. It has about 200 inhabitants and belongs to the municipality Nastaetten.

History

Oberbachheim was probably already settled in Frankish times. First mentioned was the place in 1145 as Bacheim as an asset of the monastery Schönau, which is to assume that this good was in Niederbachheim. Niederbachheim and Oberbachheim were then documented for the first time in 1361 distinguished by the addition of Upper and Lower.

Oberbachheim, like many places in the Palatinate an eventful history. First, the place belonged to Einrichgau owned by the Count of Arnstein. Later we went to the Lords of Isenburg and 1160 to the heirs, the Counts of Nassau and the counts of Katzenelenbogen. 1479 inherited the Landgrave of Hesse, the goods of Oberbachheim and 1667 was the place Hessian administration by the Office Reichenberg. 1774 was the place because of a new division of Hessen- Rhein rock and was now by the Office Nastaetten (Hessen -Kassel) managed. From 1806 to 1813 it was finally under French rule came in 1815, and through the exchange of Hesse-Cassel to the Duchy of Nassau. It was in 1817 the Office Braubach assumed. To it belonged to Prussia in 1866, only to arrive after 1945 at the current state of Rhineland -Palatinate.

Parish council

The local council in Oberbachheim consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
