Lollschied

Lollschied is a municipality in the Rhein- Lahn-Kreis in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Nassau.

Geography

Lollschied is located in the Nassau Nature Park. To Lollschied includes the residential places Stemmelmühle, located at Hasenbach, and Waldschmidt mill, located at Dörsbach.

History

The place was first mentioned in 1260 in a Erbteilungsurkunde of the Counts of Katzenelenbogen as " Lollenschieder Dinghof " and was from the 14th century to " Vierherrischen " area. Temporarily occupied by French troops ( "pays reserve" ), the place came in 1816 to the Duchy of Nassau. 1842 burned the place down for the most part. Since 1866 part of the Prussian province of Hesse -Nassau, the place in 1946 for the then newly founded state of Rhineland -Palatinate.

Parish council

The local council in Lollschied consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman ..

Economy

Lollschied is almost a purely residential community today. The dominant in the past, agriculture and timber industry plays no major role.
