Berg, Rhein-Lahn

Berg is a municipality in the Rhein- Lahn-Kreis in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Nastaetten.

Geography

Mountain is located in the Taunus in Blue Country between Nastaetten and Nassau. The municipality also includes the mountain habitations noise Steeg mill and mill.

History

Was first documented Berg 1260, when the county Katzenelenbogen was divided among the brothers Diether V and I. Eberhard. Mountain belonged to the " Vierherrischen court " in the lower county. In 1538 the Reformation was introduced. The Vierherrischen court was divided in 1647. The parish Marie Rock, was one of the mountain, was assigned to the district of Nassau- Diez. 1774 Vierherrische court was finally dissolved, then mountain was until 1806 jointly owned by Nassau- Usingen and Nassau- Orange. From 1806 to 1866, the village belonged to the Duchy of Nassau (Official Nastaetten ), then the Kingdom of Prussia (Province of Hesse -Nassau, Lahn lower circle).
