Niedertiefenbach

Niedertiefenbach is a municipality in the Rhein- Lahn-Kreis, Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Katzenelenbogen.

Geography

Lower Tiefenbach is located in the countryside of the facilities in the Taunus. To Niedertiefenbach heard the district court Bleidenbach. The municipal area extends over 4.08 km ², of which about 40 % forest.

History

The first mention was in 1247, when Count Henry of Nassau Rich handed over the parish church in Lower Tiefenbach the Abbey of Arnstein. 1617 was the place of Hesse and was from 1651 to 1802 part of Hesse -Darmstadt. 1806 the site was assigned to the Duchy of Nassau, which was annexed in 1866 by the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1946 Niedertiefenbach is part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded. 1972 came in the wake of the Rhineland-Palatinate " functional and territorial reform " to form the municipality Katzenelenbogen who belongs to the local church Niedertiefenbach ever since.

The local council in Lower Tiefenbach is composed of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
