Miehlen

Miehlen is a municipality in the Rhein- Lahn-Kreis in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Nastaetten. Miehlen located in Miehlener base in the western Hintertaunus. Straight through the town along the main road flows the mill stream. A large part of Miehlener district is used for agriculture. Only in the east, around Bettendorf, there are forests.

History

In the eastern corner of the district, which extends to the B 260, was the Roman fortlet Pfarrhofen.

Miehlen belonged since 1132 to the Counts of Nassau and Lauren castle was to the 19th century Nassauischer official residence. Here was not unequivocally confirmed in 1779 John Buckler, the most famous "son" of the town, was born. He went down in history as Schinderhannes.
