Lierschied

Lierschied in institutions is a municipality in the Rhein- Lahn-Kreis in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Loreley, which has its headquarters in St. Goar.

History

On March 31, 845 was in a deed of gift to the newly founded monastery chain Bach at the Aar and the "villa Leyrscheyt in pago Henrys " - the village Lierschied in Einrichgau - with its 17 courtyards and 64 serfs mentioned. The place was from the 14th century to " Vierherrischen " area.

After 1794 temporarily occupied by French troops ( "pays reserve" ), the place came in 1816 to the Duchy of Nassau. Since 1866 part of the Prussian province of Hesse -Nassau, the place in 1946 for the then newly founded state of Rhineland -Palatinate.

The local council in Lierschied consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
