Oberwies

Oberwies is a municipality in the Rhein- Lahn-Kreis in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Nassau.

Geography

Oberwies is in the Taunus southwest of Nassau. The municipality is one of the district " courts Dörstheck ".

History

Oberwies (originally Eberwies ) came in the 14th century to " Vierherrischen " dish on the facilities. 1775 was the place to dreiherrischen Office Nassau. Temporarily occupied by French troops ( "pays reserve" ), the place belonged from 1816 to the Duchy of Nassau. Since 1866 part of the Prussian province of Hesse -Nassau, the place was in 1946 part of the state of Rhineland -Palatinate then newly founded. Commune which is since 1972 to the municipality Nassau.

Parish council

The local council in Oberwiesenacker consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009, by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
