Lists of spacewalks and moonwalks

This list includes all space and lunar excursions (English Extra - vehicular activity (EVA ) to German about spacewalk ). It describes the residence of a spaceman outside his spaceship. When the moon excursions they called the stay of astronauts outside of the landing capsule. For all EVAs on the moon, the astronauts were traveling without security and partly far away from their lander that they could no longer see this (see moon car). With the exception of the moon trips and some U.S. EVAs all cosmonauts and astronauts were continuously connected at their exits through a security line with their spaceship. Seven NASA spacewalks was waived testing purposes an additional backup: 1984 was six times the Manned Maneuvering Unit tested and once the 1994 SAFER rescue equipment.

There are also outboard activities that can be performed without leaving the lock, those are called stand-up EVA.

For some exits the data vary in different sources. This is partly due to the fact that outboard activities from opening are expected to close the hatches in the Soviet / Russian area, while in the American Shuttle missions STS- 26, the entire duration of your stay in a vacuum, even within the lock, is calculated.

Some flights of the Space Shuttle were conducted for the U.S. Defense Department. Therefore, the exact mission history was subject to confidentiality. It is possible that during these flights also spacewalks were performed that do not appear in the official NASA statistics.

STS -49 was the only mission in which the same three astronauts outside a spaceship were (1992 )
