Kördorf

Kördorf is a municipality in the Rhein- Lahn-Kreis in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Katzenelenbogen.

History

In 1142 the city was first mentioned in a document from Pope Innocent II as a foundation property of the monastery of Arnstein as " Kirechdorp ". A church existed proven since the year 1139th Kördorf belonged to the so-called four rule on the institutions. The Reformation was at 1530. 1775 came Kördorf to Hessen- Rhein rock -Rotenburg. The Duchy of Nassau, and with him Kördorf was annexed in 1866 by Prussia. Since 1946 Kördorf is part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded. 1972 came in the wake of the Rhineland-Palatinate " functional and territorial reform " to form the municipality Katzenelenbogen who belongs to the local church Kördorf ever since.

Parish council

The local council in Kördorf consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman. The twelve seats in the municipal council are divided into two groups of voters. In 2004, a majority vote was held.
