Brown County (Nebraska)

The Brown County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Ainsworth, which was named after Captain James E. Ainsworth, who oversaw the construction of the railway line. In the area of the county is a part of the Niobrara Valley Preserve.

History

Brown County was formed in 1883 on former Indian land. It was named probably after two statesmen named Brown.
