Red Willow County, Nebraska

Red Willow County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is McCook. The city was home to three governors of Nebraska: Earl Benjamin Nelson, Ralph Brooks and Frank Morrison.

Geography

The County is located in southern Nebraska, adjacent to the state of Kansas and has an area of 1860 square kilometers, of which 4 square kilometers of water surface. It borders in Nebraska clockwise to the following counties: Furnas County, Hitchcock County and Frontier County.

History

Red Willow County was formed in 1873. It was named after the Red Willow Creek.
