Webster County (Nebraska)

Webster County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Red Cloud, named after Red Cloud, a political leader of the Plains Indians.

Geography

The County is located in southeastern Nebraska, on the south by the state of Kansas and has an area of 1489 square kilometers without significant water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Adams County, Clay County, Nuckolls County, Franklin County and Kearney County.

History

Webster County was formed in 1871. It was named after the statesman Daniel Webster.
