Otoe County, Nebraska

Otoe County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Nebraska City, which was named after the Native American term for the Platte River.

Geography

The County is located in the extreme southeast of Nebraska, on the east by Iowa and Missouri, and has an area of ​​1603 square kilometers, of which nine square miles are water. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Cass County, Nemaha County, Johnson County, Gage County and Lancaster County.

History

Otoe County was formed in 1854. It was named after the eponymous Indian people.
