Municipalities of the canton of Graubünden

The canton of Grisons comprises 146 political communities ( as at 1st January 2014). District locations are highlighted in bold.

The municipalities are grouped into districts, the districts into districts. Due to the strong municipal autonomy only the circuits have a (political ) importance, while the districts have only one administrative significance ( organization of the judiciary ). The districts have no main places in the traditional sense, but only the office of the District Court, respectively, the place of residence of the Chief Justice.

The following municipalities in the canton had more than 5000 people at 31 December 2012:

The municipality consists of the country Quart former municipalities Igis and Mastrils since 1 January 2012. Igis had 8054 inhabitants at this time.
