Crawford County (Indiana)

Crawford County is a county located in the state of Indiana in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is English.

Geography

The County is located in southern Indiana, adjacent to Kentucky and has an area of 800 square kilometers, of which eight square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Orange County, Washington County, Harrison County, Meade County (Kentucky), Perry County and Dubois County.

History

Crawford County was formed on January 29, 1818 from parts of Harrison County, Orange County and Perry County. It was named an American politician, war and Finance by William Harris Crawford.
