Hamilton County (Indiana)

Hamilton County is a county located in the state of Indiana in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Noblesville.

Geography

The County is located just north of the geographic center of Indiana and has an area of ​​1043 square kilometers, of which twelve square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Tipton County, Madison County, Hancock County, Marion County, Boone County and Clinton County.

History

Hamilton County was formed on January 8, 1823 from parts of Marion County and the free territory. It was named after Alexander Hamilton, an American politician and the first Minister of Finance of the United States.
