Adams County is a county located in the state of Indiana in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Decatur.

Geography

The Adams County is located in northeastern Indiana. The Nachbarcountys are ( starting in the north clockwise):

History

The Adams County was formed on 1 March 1836. It was named after John Quincy Adams, the sixth President of the United States. The county courthouse still in use was built in 1872-73.

Approximately 18.5 % of the population in Adams County are Bern German -speaking Amish.
