The U.S. presidential election in Texas in 2012 was held on November 6, 2012 as part of the presidential election in the United States in 2012, attended by all 50 states and Washington, DC participated. Voters in Texas chose 38 electors who voted for the President and the Vice President.

Mitt Romney received 57.17 % of votes in Texas and won the 38 electors of the state. Barack Obama received 41.38 % of votes. As in previous elections won President Obama and the Democrats on the heavily populated urban counties such as Austin, El Paso, Dallas, San Antonio and Houston, but the Republicans were in rural counties, an overwhelming majority and could therefore overrule the urban counties.

Nationwide, Barack Obama, however, was able to prevail against his challenger. Obama received 51.06 % of the vote and 332 electors, Mitt Romney 47.21 % of the vote and 206 electors.
