Roscommon County is a county located in the state of Michigan in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Roscommon.

Geography

The County is located in the central northern part of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan and has an area of ​​1502 square kilometers, of which 151 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Crawford County, Ogemaw County, Gladwin County, Clare County and Missaukee County.

History

Roscommon County was formed in 1840 from parts of Mackinac County and free territory. It was named after the County Roscommon in Ireland.
