L. Paul Howland

Leonard Paul Howland ( born December 5, 1865 in Jefferson, Ohio, † December 23, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio ) was an American politician of the Republican Party. March 4, 1907 to March 3, 1913 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 20th Congressional District of the State of Ohio.

Biography

Leonard Paul Howland was born in Jefferson. There he attended the public schools. At Oberlin College and Harvard University he graduated from in 1887 and 1890 to study law. In the same year he was admitted to the bar. He began his work in Jefferson. In 1894 he moved to Cleveland, where he continued his activities. In the Spanish-American War he served as a Second Lieutenant.

1906 Howland was as a representative of the 20th district of Ohio in the House to Washington, DC selected. He served there for three legislative period, before he retired again in 1913. Henceforth, he was, until his death in 1942, returned to the bar.
