Charlie Wilson (Ohio politician)

Charles A. "Charlie" Wilson ( born January 18, 1943 in Bridgeport, Belmont County, Ohio, † April 14, 2013 in Boynton Beach, Florida ) was an American politician of the Democratic Party from 2007 to 2011 he was a member of. house of Representatives of the United States for the 6th Congressional District of the State of Ohio.

Biography

Charlie Wilson studied at Ohio University. He also visited the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, a College of Funeral Services in Cincinnati. Prior to his election to the House of Representatives from Ohio in 1997, he worked as a mortician. Until 2004 he sat in the House of Representatives from Ohio. Then he was up to his election to the U.S. House of Representatives member of the Senate of Ohio.

From 2007 to 2011 Wilson represented the 6th congressional district of Ohio in the House. He followed on the chosen Governor of Ohio Ted Strickland. His seat he could defend in the 2008 election. In the 2010 election he lost his seat to Republican Bill Johnson. Most recently, he was sitting in the Committee on Financial Services and the Committee on Science and Technology. During his time in the House he was a member of the Blue Dog Coalition.

Charlie Wilson lived in St. Clairsville. He was Roman Catholic and father of four sons. His son Jason is his immediate successor in the Senate of Ohio.

In February 2013 he suffered a stroke, the consequences of which he died in a hospital in Florida on April 14, 2013.
