Betty Sutton

Betty Sue Sutton ( born July 31, 1963 in Barberton, Ohio) is an American politician of the Democratic Party. From 3 January 2007 to January 3, 2013 she was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 13th Congressional District of the State of Ohio.

In the 2012 election she defeated her competitor Jim Renacci.

Biography

Betty Sutton was born in Barberton in the U.S. state of Ohio. After visiting the public schools of her native town, she studied political science at Kent State University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts. Your Juris Doctor she graduated from the University of Akron. In 1990 she was elected to the city council of Barberton. She was elected to the House of Representatives from Ohio in 1993.
