Bill Johnson (Ohio politician)

William Leslie " Bill" Johnson ( born November 10, 1954 in Roseboro, Sampson County, North Carolina ) is an American politician of the Republican Party. Since January 3, 2011, he is a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 6th Congressional District of the State of Ohio.

Biography

Bill Johnson was born in Roseboro in the U.S. state of North Carolina. In 1973, he joined the United States Air Force. During his military service he studied until 1979 at the Troy University and until 1984 at the Georgia Institute of Technology. There he completed a master. Until 1999 he served in the Air Force, most recently as a Lieutenant Colonel.

In the elections to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010, Johnson was able to beat the incumbent Charlie Wilson. He represents since January 2011, the 6th District of Ohio in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC. 2012, he was confirmed in office. He is a member of the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs, in the United States House Committee on Natural Resources and the United States House Committee on Veterans' Affairs. He is also a member of several subcommittees.

Bill Johnson is married to LeAnn and father of four children. Together they live in Poland.
