Timothy C. Day

Timothy Crane Day ( born January 8, 1819 in Cincinnati, Ohio, † April 15, 1869 ) was an American politician of the opposition party. From 1855 to 1857 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 1st Congressional District of the State of Ohio.

Biography

Timothy Day was born in Cincinnati. He attended the public schools in his hometown. He trained as a printer and engraver. He was then editor of the Cincinnati Enquirer in 1849. In 1852 he took a trip to Europe.

In 1855 he was elected as a representative of the opposition party in the U.S. House of Representatives. There he represented until 1857 the first district of Ohio. He was not up for health reasons for re-election.

He died in 1869 in his native town, and was buried there in the Spring Grove Cemetery. He was married to Mary Jane Johnson Day.
