Isaac H. Taylor

Isaac Hamilton Taylor ( born April 18, 1840 in New Harrisburg, Carroll County, Ohio, † December 18, 1936 in Hartville, Ohio ) was an American politician of the Republican Party. March 4, 1885 to March 3, 1887, he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 18th Congressional District of the State of Ohio.

Biography

Taylor was born in New Harrisburg. He attended schools in Carroll County and then studied law. In 1867 he completed his studies and was admitted to the bar. His firm he opened in Carrollton. Between 1870 and 1877 he was employed by Carroll County.

Between 1885 and 1887 Taylor was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for the 18th District of Ohio. He was not nominated by his party for re-election. He was then returned to the bar. In 1892 he was a delegate at the Republican National Convention for his party.

Taylor died in 1936 in Hartsville. He was buried at West Lawn Cemetery in Canton. From 1860 he was married to Sarah J. Elder. Both had three children.
