Elton Gallegly

Elton William Gallegly ( born March 7, 1944 in Huntington Park, California) is an American politician of the Republican Party. From 1987 to 2013 he represented the state of California in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Elton Gallegly attended to 1962 Huntington Park High School and then studied until 1963 at the Los Angeles State College. He then worked in the real estate industry. At the same time he began a political career as a member of the Republican Party. In 1979 he sat in the council of Simi Valley; 1980 to 1986 he was mayor there.

In the congressional elections of 1986, Gallegly was the 21st electoral district of California in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Bobbi Fiedler on January 3, 1987. Between 1993 and 2003 he represented there the 23th and then the 24th district of his state.
