Tony Cárdenas

Antonio "Tony" Cardenas ( born March 31, 1963 in San Fernando, California) is an American politician. Since 2013 he represents the state of California in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Tony Cardenas studied until 1986 at the University of California at Santa Barbara Electricity. He then worked as a real estate broker and insurance agent. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. Between 1996 and 2002 he was a deputy in the California State Assembly. There he directed from time to time the Budget Committee. From 2003 he sat in the Los Angeles City Council.

In the congressional elections of 2012, Cardenas was the 29th electoral district of California in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took over from Adam Schiff on January 3, 2013, who moved into the 28th district. In the election, he sat down with 74:26 percent of the vote against the non-party candidates by David R. Hernandez.

Cardenas is married and has four children. Privately, he lives in Los Angeles.
