Eric Swalwell

Eric Swalwell Jr. ( born November 16, 1980 in Sac City, Sac County, Iowa) is an American politician. Since 2013 he represents the state of California in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Eric Swalwell grew up in Dublin ( California). In 1999 he graduated from the local high school. Then he studied until 2003 at the University of Maryland. After a subsequent law degree from the same university and his 2006 was admitted to the bar he began to work as a lawyer. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. In 2001 and 2002 he was on the staff of Congressman Ellen Tauscher. From 2006 to 2012 he was deputy district attorney in Alameda County. Between 2010 and 2012, he also belonged to the municipal council of the city of Dublin.

In the congressional elections of 2012 Swalwell was in the 15th electoral district of California in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took over from Mike Honda on January 3, 2013, who moved into the 17th district. In the election, he had prevailed with 52:48 percent of the vote against the longtime Democratic incumbent Pete Stark.
