List of national parks of China

In the People's Republic of China, the Chinese Guojiaji Fengjing Mingshengqu is (国家级 风景 名胜 区, National area of natural and historic interest ), the correspondence of National Park ( guojia gong yuan ,国家 公园), as it is applied outside of China. The details are set out in the Directive on the development of valuable scenic areas in 2000, which was decided in 1999 by the Ministry of Construction. The term is taken up in the official logo of the National Parks in China.

In the year 2008 187 National Parks were reported in China. Until August 2012, however, many areas were not yet registered with the IUCN in appropriate categories. Only one area received with category I a the highest protection status and thus became recognized internationally, 74 areas have not yet been assigned and a total of 179 cases, there is still no sufficient data for registering with the IUCN ago.

The area of ​​each national park extends in most cases beyond the region, which designates the official name. One example is the Taihu National Park (太湖 国家级 风景 名胜 区) with an area of ​​3091 km ², which consists of 13 landscape zones in Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou Mudu (木渎), Shihu (石湖), Guangfu (光 福), Dongshan (东山), Xishan (西山) Luzhi (甪 直), Tongli (同 里), Yushan (虞山) Meiliang Lake (梅 粱 湖), Lihu Lake (蠡湖) Xihui (锡惠 ), Mashan (马 山), Yangxian (阳羡) and two isolated sites situated outside the park: the Taibo Temple (泰伯 庙) and the burial place of Taibo (泰伯 墓).
