William B. Shattuc

William Bunn Shattuc ( born June 11, 1841 in Hector, Schuyler County, New York, † July 13, 1911 in Cincinnati, Ohio ) was an American politician of the Republican Party. From 1897 to 1903 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 1st Congressional District of the State of Ohio.

Biography

William Bunn Shattuc was born in Hector, New York. In 1862 he moved with his parents to the vicinity of Sandusky. During the Sezesseionskrieges he served as a Second Lieutenant. In February 1863, he was discharged with the rank of First Lieutenant in the Army. From 1865 to 1894 he was employed by the Mississippi Railway Company. In the State Senate, he sat in 1895.

As a representative of the 1st district of Ohio from 1897 to 1903 he sat in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was not up for re-election in 1902.

Shattuc died in 1911 in Cincinnati. He was buried in Spring Grove Cemetery.
