Gülzow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Gülzow is a municipality in the district of Mecklenburg Lake District. The municipality is located north-west of Neubrandenburg. They belonged to 31 January 2004, the Office Stavenhagen country and since the merger with Stavenhagen the Office Stavenhagen, which has its administrative headquarters in Stavenhagen.

Geography and transport

Gülzow is located about four kilometers west of Stavenhagen and about six kilometers east of Malchin, south of Lake Kummerow. The B 194 runs to the east, the B 104 north of the community. The nearest train station is Stavenhagen on the railway line Biitzow - Szczecin, about five kilometers east of Gülzow. After Stavenhagen runs weekdays the bus line 426 of Demminer transport company.

History

Gülzow was first mentioned in 1226. The village and church were destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. The former homestead village developed in the 18th and 19th centuries, a green village with farms, former Büdnereien Häusler and estates.
