Vipperow

Vipperow [ fipəʁo ː ] is a municipality in the southern part of the Mecklenburg Lake District Mecklenburg -Vorpommern. It is administered by the Office Robel -Müritz based in the city Robel / Müritz.

Geography

The community Vipperow in the Mecklenburg Lake District is located at the southern tip of Lake Müritz, more precisely at the entrance of the Elde ( an extension of the Müritzarms ) in the Small Müritz. From Vipperow opposite bank of the Little Müritz the channel branches off to Mirow, he is part of the Müritz- Havel waterway. The hilly terrain west of Vipperow reaches 79 m above sea level. NN. History

1178 emerged the first time in a document on Vipperow, in the diocese of Schwerin by Pope Alexander III. was confirmed. This originally slavic populated village is the oldest in the region around the Müritz.
