Jürgenstorf

Jürgenstorf is a municipality in the district of Mecklenburg Lake District. The municipality is located north-west of Neubrandenburg. It belongs to the Office Stavenhagen, which has its administrative headquarters in Stavenhagen.

Geography and transport

Jürgenstorf is about five kilometers south of Stavenhagen. The B 194 performs the community.

History

Jürgenstorf was probably founded during the German colonization of the east and named after the locator Jürgen. In the Thirty Years' War, the town was almost completely destroyed. Of the nine resident farmers and seven Kossätenstellen survived only four people. The church was destroyed in 1700 and rebuilt again.

The districts Krummsee and Voßhagen are both former small Gutsdörfer. In Krummsee Aufsiedlungsgehöfte determine the townscape.

  • The village church of Jürgenstorf was built in 1700 as a half-timbered church. Parts of the church, especially the base of the rectangular western tower, are from a previous building around 1400. Concerning the historical features of the church include a carved from the late 15th century with vielfiguriger Crucifixion and figures of the twelve Apostles, also another old carved crucifix and pulpit and Patronatsloge from the 18th century. The surrounding cemetery is the grave of Johann Friedrich Gutsinspektors Schecker (1775-1848), which literary model for the " Unkel Braesig " by Fritz Reuter. At the Gutinspektor recalls a sculpture by the sculptor Günter Kaden on the " Entspektor - Bräsig Square ".
  • From the former castle can still be seen in Jürgenstorf the gatehouses of the former Baroque manor, whose main building was rebuilt in 1910, however, and later parceled to home ownership.
  • In Jürgenstorf is also the art museum of the local vintage car club.
  • In Rottmannshagen is the former manor with the refurbished Cavalier houses and some farm buildings. The Cavalier houses are two-story, brick buildings with mansard roofs nine-axis. The mansion was built in 1728 to 1732 burned down to the end of the war in 1945 and was later replaced by a smaller new building. Also worth seeing is the chapel and cemetery on the outskirts of Rottmannshagen.

In the 2009 federal election, the SPD had a major loss of 15.3 % in the constituency Jürgenstorf accept and only came to 13.9 %.
