Röckwitz

Röckwitz is a municipality in the district of Mecklenburg Lake District. The municipality is located north of Neubrandenburg and is part of the Office Treptower Tollensewinkel based in Old Treptow.

Geography and transport

Röckwitz lies about 15 km east of Stavenhagen and about 13 km west of Old Treptow. The border between Mecklenburg and Vorpommern runs approximately 1 km east of the town, situated so on mecklenburgischem area.

The B96 ( B96 ) runs to the east of the church. The community is accessible from the motorway 20 (A 20) via the Old Treptow connection.

Until 1 January 2004, the municipality was part of the Office Kastorfer lake.

History

Röckwitz was first mentioned in a deed of gift to the monastery Reinfeld in Lübeck in 1286. The place was called Radekennice, Rekeritz and Radekevitz. The name could be translated with Freudenberg, and can even be a designation after the Slavic god Radegast. In the 16th century the village was Malt tooth shear possession. In the Thirty Years' War, the village was razed to the church and later referred to as barren and desolate. In 1654, Lorenz von Blücher bought the place in 1808 Alexander von Moltke and in 1862 the village Malt tooth shear property was again. In the year 1931/1932 the estate was settled (divided ) and originated in Röckwitz and Adamshof by 48 settlers sites.

The farm was located since 1428 in the family of Malt tooth. 1579 was pledged to the Duke of Mecklenburg. 1617 took over the family Preen the estate as collateral possession. In 1692 it was sold to Lorenz von Blücher. The manor house was built until 1777 in the Baroque style by Adam von Blucher ( 1696-1781 ). It resembles the manor Tützpatz, probably has the same architect. Above the portal, the family coat of arms of Blücher is seen. In 1808 the estate was sold to Count Moltke on Wolde. 1819 acquired Wilhelmine von Blücher the estate and in 1862 it passed by inheritance back to the family of Malt tooth, which it sold in 1937 to Captain von Sydow. After the Second World War, the mansion was used by the LPG and was following the collapse of progressive deterioration. In the year 1998/99 Helmuth Baron acquired. Malt tooth that has also built Castle Ulrichshusen again, the ailing plant and began to rebuild. Gradually, the castle, the two Kavalierhäuser, Gutsmauer restored with entrance and parking. The plan is a residential use. In addition, the manor is to serve as a venue for the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The park was created in the first half of the 18th century, it is only preserved remnants.

  • Village church Röckwitz, plastered brick church with field stone base of 1300 and plastered with half-timbered tower attachment from the 18th century. Among the art treasures of the church include the shrine of a Schnitzaltars and two figures from the late 15th century.
  • Heritage Museum Röckwitz in the former school
  • The Gützkow lock is a single-storey, fünfzehnachsiger stucco building with converted attic roof. For yard and garden, the mansion on three axis Mittelrisaliten with coat of arms cartridges in Lünettengiebeln. The castle-like building is surrounded by a manor with the park.
