Gary Miller

Gary Gene Miller ( born October 16, 1948 in Huntsville, Madison County, Arkansas) is an American politician. Since 1999 he represents the state of California in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Gary Miller attended the California High School in Whittier and Lowell High School in La Habra. He then completed the Mount San Antonio College in Walnut. In 1967 he served for a few months in the U.S. Army. He then worked as a private businessman in the real estate industry. At the same time he began a political career as a member of the Republican Party. In 1989, Miller was elected to the city council of Diamond Bar; He became mayor of this place in 1992. From 1995 to 1999 he sat as a deputy in the California State Assembly.

In the congressional elections of 1998, Miller was the 41st electoral district of California in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Jay Kim on January 3, 1999. After the previous six elections he can exercise his mandate in Congress today. Since 2003 he is representing as the successor to Joe Baca the 42nd district of his state. Miller is a member of the Finance Committee and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and in five sub-committees. He chaired the Building a Better America Caucus, is also on the Republican Study Committee and the Tea Party movement related Tea Party Caucus. During his tenure as Congressman Gary Miller several times went to the suspicion of illegal business practices. Investigations have been initiated, but so far no charges levied.
