Dennis Cardoza

Dennis A. Cardoza ( born March 31, 1959 in Merced, California) is an American politician. From 2003 to 2012, he represented the state of California in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Dennis Cardoza studied until 1982 at the University of Maryland at College Park. He then worked as a private businessman. He moved to Atwater, where he sat on the city council 1984-1987. As a member of the Democratic Party, he was Member of Parliament between 1996 and 2002 in the California State Assembly.

In the congressional elections of 2002, Cardoza was in the 18th electoral district of California in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Gary Condit on 3 January 2003. After four elections he could implement his mandate in Congress until his resignation on 14 August 2012; earlier, he had already announced not to run again in November this year. He is considered a conservative Democrat for California conditions. He was most recently a member of the Agriculture Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee and in four sub-committees. A by-election to Cardozas mandate was not recognized.
