Burke County is a county located in the state of North Carolina of the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) at the Catawba River Morganton is, which was named after Daniel Morgan, a general in the American Revolutionary War.

History

Burke County was formed in 1777 from parts of Rowan County. It was named after Dr. Thomas Burke, a member of the Continental Congress and governor of North Carolina.
