Jackson County (North Carolina)

Jackson County is a county located in the state of North Carolina of the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Sylva, which was named after the carpenter William D. Sylva.

Geography

The County is located far to the west of North Carolina, on the south by South Carolina, is located in the north about 30 miles from Tennessee and has an area of ​​1281 square kilometers, of which 10 square kilometers are water surface. History

Jackson County was formed in 1851 from parts of Haywood County and Macon County. It was named after President Andrew Jackson.
