Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati
The Archdiocese of Cincinnati (Latin: Archidioecesis Cincinnatensis ) is an Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic church located in Cincinnati.
It has been separated on June 19, 1821 from the diocese of Bardstown and established as a separate diocese. The Archdiocese of Baltimore under standing suffragan, it announced on March 8, 1833, some areas from the establishment of the Diocese of Detroit. When, having again a few areas to establishment of the Diocese of Cleveland on April 23, 1847 and was raised on July 19, 1850 even to an archbishopric with Metropolitan seat. In addition, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati became effective on March 3, 1868 areas from the foundation of the Diocese of Columbus. The archdiocese now covers the area of 19 counties in the southwest of the state of Ohio.
