Vollrathsruhe

Vollrathsruhe is a municipality in the north- western part of the Mecklenburg Lake District Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is goods with headquarters in the city goods managed by the Office Lakelands (Müritz).

Geography

The community Vollrathsruhe on the southern edge of the Mecklenburg Switzerland is located in the Mecklenburg Lake District, between Malchiner and Krakow Lake. The city Teterow is about 15 km from Vollrathsruhe. The hilly municipality (up to 102 m above sea level. NN ) is rich with forests and lakes. Through the municipal area, the West Peene flows. The districts Klein- Luckow, United Rehberg, church and castle Grubenhagen lie in the nature park Mecklenburg Switzerland and Lake Kummerow. North and east of Vollrathsruhe borders the district of Rostock.

History

The burial mounds near the village of Hallalit ( the local name should come from the hunter language ) evidence of a settlement of the area in the Bronze Age.

The ruined castle in the village of Castle Grubenhagen evidence of a once mighty fortress. In the 13th and 14th century of mining ( vassals of the Prince of Werle ) were lords here. A document notarized for the 1364 Knight Ulrich von Moltzan / Maltzan as the owner of the castle. Remains of the keep (up to 10 meters high) are still preserved. Near this castle ruin a new manor house was built in 1840 - today the residence of a branch of the family von Maltzan.

After a fire in 1917 the castle in neo-baroque style in Vollrathsruhe was rebuilt.

The village church in the village church Grubenhagen dates from the first half of the 13th century.

Vollrathsruhe was in the time of the GDR seat of a Youth Court for maladjusted children.

Traffic

Vollrathsruhe is located on the road from Malchow to Teterow and Malchin. The next federal highway 108 leads to about 20 km distant town Waren (Müritz). In nine kilometers from the junction Linstow is located on the A 19 (Rostock - Berlin). The nearest train stations are in Silz and Teterow ( the railway line Berlin - Rostock indeed crosses the territory of the municipality, between Waren (Müritz) and Lalendorf there are no breakpoints ).
