Ella-Bay-Nationalpark

The Ella Bay National Park (English: Ella Bay National Park ) is a national park in northeastern Australian state of Queensland. It is located 1329 km northwest of Brisbane and 10 kilometers north of Innisfail.

In the neighborhood of the National Park Russell River, Eubenangee Swamp and Moresby Range lie.

Flora and Fauna

The area around the Ella Bay is covered in tropical coastal rainforest.

There you will find a large number of different animals, such as and threatened species such as the cassowary, the common mist frog ( Litoria rheocola ) or the Australian Waterfall Frog ( litora nannotis ). On the beaches, near creek mouths, there are saltwater crocodiles. Also different turtle species nest on the beach.

The park is part of the Coastal Wet Tropics Important Bird Area. BirdLife International informed the park to this classification, because it is an important habitat for the bird of the tropical rainforest in the lowlands.

Facilities and access

In the park itself there are no facilities, but the local administration of the Cassowary Coast region had it designed a campground near the park.

The national park is accessible from Innisfail via the Fly Fish Point on the Ella Bay Road.
