Peak-Range-Nationalpark

The Peak Range National Park is located 45 kilometers from Clermont in central Queensland in Australia. He is a part of the Volcano Peak Range, a series of volcanoes.

From the Peak Downs Highway, which leads to the south side of the park over the Peak Range 're off to see the flat central highlands of Queensland The most famous mountain in the national park is 487 meters above sea level lying Wolfgang Peak.

In the park are located next to extinct volcanoes lava fields.

Peak Range Volcano

As Peak Range Volcano is an area designated by volcanoes that form a line down the length of 100 kilometers and cover an area of 2500 square kilometers with lava. The Peak Range National Park is a part of this area. These volcanic mountains are Anvil Peak, Table Mountain, Scotts Peak, Malvern Hill and Ropers Peak. The highest mountain in this chain is the Browns Peak with a height of 807 meters above the sea. The mountains Scotts Peak, Ropers Peak and Browns Peak discovered and named by the Prussian explorer Ludwig Leichhardt in February 1845 on his first expedition to Australia 1844-1845.
