Palmerston-Rocks-Nationalpark

The Palmerston Rocks National Park (English Palmerston Rocks National Park ) is only 9.52 hectare national park in Queensland, Australia.

Location

The park is located in the region of North Queensland and is located 15 kilometers west of Innisfail. It can be reached via the Palmerston Highway; about a kilometer after the small town Coorumba it extends over a length of 600 meters along the road. It is only 200 meters wide and there are no visitor facilities.

In the vicinity of the national parks Japoon, Wooroonooran, Eubenangee Swamp, Ella Bay and Moresby Range lie.

Flora and Fauna

Especially for the highly endangered Common Mistfrog ( Litoria rheocola ), this small piece of tropical rainforest an important refuge. In addition are the Tapping green eyed Frog ( Litoria serrata ), the Orange Bush Brown ( Mycalesis terminus) and Orchard Swallowtail ( Papilio aegeus ), both butterflies in the park home.
