Maria-Creek-Nationalpark

The Maria Creek National Park (English: Maria Creek National Park ) is a national park in northeastern Australian state of Queensland.

Location

It is located 1292 km northwest of Brisbane and 30 kilometers south of Innisfail.

In the neighborhood of the National Park Kurrimine Beach, Barnard Iceland Group and Clump Mountain lie.

Provincial nature

The small national park in the coastal plain between agricultural land is crossed by Maria Creek meanders. The creek flows south of Kurrimine Beach in an estuary in the Coral Sea. About 60 percent of the park is swampland.

Flora and Fauna

The national park is covered with tropical rainforest.

He is part of the Coastal Wet Tropics Important Bird Area, which was designated by BirdLife International because of its importance for the conservation of birds of the tropical coast rainforest.

Facilities and access

The tents in the park is not allowed and there are no landscaped paths. In Kurrimine Beach Holiday Park is a nearby camp site.

The park is accessible via the Bruce Highway (exit Kurrimine ). From there, turn east on the Murdering Point Road and reached after 10 km Kurrimine Beach. The National Park is located on the southwestern end of the settlement.
