Mazeppa-Nationalpark

The Mazeppa National Park (English: Mazeppa National Park ) is a national park in the eastern part of the Australian state of Queensland. It is located 821 km north-west of Brisbane and 220 kilometers west of Mackay on the Gregory Developmental Road.

The park was named after Lord Byron's Mazeppa, a poem about Ivan Mazepa

The park is located in rolling hills in the hinterland of the coast.

The National Park is a small area unchanged acacia thicket is protected is punctuated with sparse eucalyptus forest. Also sandalwood and blackcurrant bushes occur.

The tents in the park is not permitted because of the delicate, original vegetation. Trails to be found, but should not leave with regard to the nature and committed with caution, especially after rains.

The Mazeppa National Park is located directly east then to the Gregory Developmental Road, 75 km north-west of Clermont. The small park itself can only be explored on foot.
