Mount-Ossa-Nationalpark
The Mount Ossa National Park (English Mount Ossa National Park ) is a 8.7 square kilometer national park in Queensland, Australia.
Location
It is located on the Bruce Highway 42 km north-west of Mackay and 80 kilometers south of Airlie Beach at the height of the eponymous local Mount Ossa. In the National Park there are no roads, trails or other visitor facilities.
In the neighborhood of the Eungella National Park, Bluff Hill, Mount Martin and Pioneer Peaks lie.
Landforms
The Mount Ossa National Park covers an up to 290 meters high, made of granite hills that rises from the coastal plain. It forms a natural link between higher landward Clarke and Conners Ranges and the coastal lowlands.
Flora and Fauna
The vegetation consists mainly of rainforest with an increasing number of New Guinea Araucaria (English: Hoop Pines ).
In the park are threatened (English: near threatened ) species such as the carbon black oystercatchers and skinks ( Eulamprus amplus and Saproscincus spectabilis ) home.
