Swain-Reefs-Nationalpark
The Swain Reefs National Park (English: Swain Reefs National Park ) is a national park in the eastern part of the Australian state of Queensland and the southern part of the Great Barrier Reef. It is located 703 km north of Brisbane, 220 kilometers off the coast of Rockhampton.
Provincial nature
The National Park consists of small cays that together have a land area of 58 hectares and 1995 were designated as a national park.
Fauna
Nine of these islands with a total of 9 hectares form the '' Swain Reef Important Bird Area '', which was recorded by BirdLife International because there broods more than 1% of the worldwide occurrence of the roseate tern. A total of 25,000 of these species have been counted on the islands. In addition there are masks, and white-bellied dolt, silver head gulls, black-necked, soot, chinstrap, express, Rüppell and little tern, black ( Anous minutus) and brown Noddis ( Anous stolidus ) and Arielfregattvögel.
